Turn on Claude Reflect (and actually use it)

Reflect is a new Claude dashboard that shows how you really use AI. Most people switch it on, say "neat," and do nothing. Here's how to set it up and turn it into a genuine upgrade.

What's Reflect? It's a dashboard inside Claude that shows your AI habits: your busiest day, your peak hour, the topics you lean on it for most, and a few observations about how you work. It's a mirror. The value isn't the stats, it's what you do about them.

What you'll see
Your peak hour
When you actually reach for AI
Your top topics
What you lean on it for most
Your busiest day
Your real usage pattern
The gap
Everything you're not using yet
Before you start: You need a Claude account (the free plan works). Reflect is in beta on Free, Pro and Max, on web and desktop. Don't have one? Sign up at claude.ai.
1

Turn on memory first

Reflect runs off your memory, so if that's switched off, nothing will show up. Open Settings and make sure memory is on before anything else.

2

Switch on Reflect

In Settings, find Reflect and turn it on. While you're there, the Time and focus settings also let you set break reminders and quiet hours, worth a look if you catch yourself using it at 11pm.

3

Give it a few days

It needs a bit of history to show you anything useful. Use Claude like normal, then come back at the end of the week to see your patterns.

4

Run the 3-question review

This is the part that actually matters. Once it's got a few days of data, sit down for five minutes and answer these:

1. What am I over-relying on?
If most of your use is one thing, fine, but it means there's a whole pile of work AI isn't touching yet.
2. What am I NOT using it for at all?
Look at your real week. Where's the repetitive, time-sucking stuff? That's your biggest opportunity, hiding in plain sight.
3. What's one new job I'll hand it this week?
Pick one thing from question 2 and commit to trying it. Just one. That's how you close the gap.
Why this works: you can't fix a habit you can't see. The people who pull ahead aren't the ones with the fanciest tools. They're the ones who noticed the gap and closed it, one job at a time.
