Setup Guide

Score your script
before you film

Install the ccscript skill and check any Reel script against Chris Chung's 6-element checklist before you pick up your phone.

ccscript is a Claude Code skill that scores any short-form video script against the same 6-element checklist Chris Chung uses to hit 100K+ views on Reels. It checks each element individually, gives you a pass or fail, and rewrites anything that doesn't land. It can also write scripts from a topic, and scores them using a separate AI so it can't grade its own work.

01
High TAM
Is the topic big enough?
02
Curiosity in 3s
Contrast hook in line 1
03
Super Hook
Credibility in line 2
04
Speed to Value
No preamble. Line 3 = value.
05
Net New Value
Non-obvious and actionable
06
Tension
Stakes, not a flat list
What you'll have after this
Script scorecard
Pass/fail on every element before you film
Specific rewrites
Not just diagnosis: the fixed version of every failure
Scripts from a topic
Give it a topic, get a structured script back
Independent scoring
A separate AI checks written scripts, so it can't mark its own work
Before you start: You'll need Claude Code installed and a Claude Pro or Max plan. If you've already set up Claude Code, skip straight to Step 2. If not, start at Step 1. It takes about 3 minutes.
1

Install Claude Code

Claude Code is Anthropic's command-line tool. It runs in your terminal, reads and writes files on your computer, and is where skills like this one run.

Open Terminal and paste this:

Terminal
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Once installed, run this to check it's working:

Terminal
claude

It'll ask you to log in with your Anthropic account the first time. Sign in and you're ready.

Windows? Use Claude Code via WSL, or download the desktop app at claude.ai/code for a simpler setup.
2

Install the ccscript skill

This downloads the skill file and places it where Claude Code looks for skills. One command, done in seconds.

Terminal
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/daniel9834/ccscript/main/install.sh | bash

You'll see a confirmation message when it's done. The skill lives at ~/.claude/skills/ccscript/.

What this does: Downloads a single markdown file (the skill's instructions) into your local Claude skills folder. Claude Code reads it when you run /ccscript. No packages, no dependencies, nothing else running.
3

Run it

Open Claude Code, then run one of these depending on what you need.

To score an existing script:

Claude Code
/ccscript score

Paste your script after the command and it'll check all 6 elements. Every failure gets a specific rewrite, not just "this needs work."

To write a script from a topic:

Claude Code
/ccscript write [your topic]

It'll ask for your credibility signal (the specific number or result for line 2), write a 75 to 175 word script, then spin up a second AI to score it independently. You see both.

Just run /ccscript if you're not sure which mode you need. It'll ask.

What to try first

Score your last script
Pull up the script from your last Reel and see how it actually scores. Most scripts fail element 3 (Speed to Value) or 5 (Net New Value). Good to know before the next one.
Claude Code
/ccscript score
[paste your script here]
Write a script on an AI topic
Give it a topic you've been sitting on. It'll check if the topic is broad enough, ask for your credibility signal, then write a structured script with all 6 elements built in.
Claude Code
/ccscript write how to save 5 hours a week using Claude
Use it as a gate before filming
Make it the last step before you pick up your phone. Run any script through it and only film on a 4/5 or 5/5. Don't waste a shoot on a script you haven't checked.
Claude Code
/ccscript score
[your script — aim for 5/5 before filming]
The workflow: Write a script → run /ccscript score → fix the fails → film. A 5/5 before you start is a better filter than watching your last video underperform and wondering why.
