What is this?

Apify is a web scraping platform that pulls data from Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and hundreds of other sites. Claude Code is Anthropic's AI tool that runs in your terminal. This guide connects them together so you can type something like "find me 500 plumbers in Sydney" and get a CSV full of names, phone numbers, websites, and ratings in minutes.

What you'll have after this
Lead Lists on Demand
Any business type, any city, any platform
CSV Export
Names, phones, websites, ratings in a spreadsheet
Email Enrichment
Automatically finds emails from their websites
Outreach Drafts
Personalised first message for every lead
Before you start: You'll need three things:

1. A Claude account with a Pro or Max plan ($20/mo or $100/mo). Sign up at claude.ai if you don't have one.
2. Node.js installed on your computer. Download it free at nodejs.org (click the LTS button, run the installer).
3. An Apify account, free to sign up. You get $5 in free credit each month (that's hundreds of leads).
1

Install Claude Code

Claude Code is Anthropic's command-line tool. It runs in your terminal and can read, write, and reason about files on your computer.

On Mac or Linux, open Terminal and paste this:

Terminal
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Once installed, start it up:

Terminal
claude

It'll ask you to log in the first time. Sign in with your Anthropic account and you're set.

Windows? Claude Code works on Windows via WSL, or you can download the desktop app from claude.ai/code for a simpler setup.
2

Create a free Apify account

Apify is the scraping engine that does the heavy lifting. It pulls data from Google Maps, Instagram, and other platforms. You get $5 in free credit every month, enough for hundreds of leads.

Sign up here:

console.apify.com/sign-up

Use Google or email. Either works. Once you're logged in, move to the next step.

3

Grab your API token

The API token is what lets Claude Code talk to Apify on your behalf. You only need to do this once.

Go to your integrations page:

console.apify.com/settings/integrations

You'll see a section called Personal API token. Click Copy next to it. Keep it handy. You'll paste it in the next step.

Treat this like a password. Don't share your API token publicly or post it in screenshots. It stays on your computer and is only used to connect to Apify's servers.
4

Connect Apify to Claude Code

This tells Claude Code where to find Apify. One command, paste your token when asked, and you're done forever.

In your terminal (not inside Claude Code, exit first if you're in it):

Terminal
claude mcp add apify -e APIFY_TOKEN=your-token-here -- npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server

Replace your-token-here with the API token you copied in Step 3. No quotes needed.

That's Apify connected. Now let's install the skill that makes it all work.

5

Install the lead scraper skill

This installs a skill that teaches Claude Code how to find leads, pick the right scraper, format the results, and optionally find emails and write outreach messages. One command.

Terminal
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/daniel9834/claude-skills/main/install.sh | bash -s scrape-leads

You'll see it download the skill files. Takes about 5 seconds.

What just happened? The skill files were saved to ~/.claude/skills/scrape-leads/ on your computer. Claude Code reads them automatically every time you start a session. No config needed.
6

Run the skill

Open Claude Code (or restart it if it's already open) and type:

Claude Code
/scrape-leads

Here's what happens:

Claude will ask you four quick questions, one at a time:

  • What kind of leads? Local businesses, online companies, Instagram creators, TikTok creators, or YouTube creators
  • Who specifically? E.g., "yoga studios in Austin, TX" or "fitness influencers with 10k-100k followers"
  • How many? Start with 25-50 to keep Apify costs low. You can always run again for more
  • What to do with the results? Just the raw data, find their email addresses, or the full works (emails + lead scoring + draft outreach messages)

After you answer, it scrapes, shows you a formatted table in the terminal, and saves everything to a CSV file on your computer.

Next time, just tell it what you want:

Claude Code
find me 200 plumbers in Melbourne

It'll confirm what you asked for, check if you want enrichment, and go. You can search for something different every time. It always asks before scraping.

What you get in the CSV:

Local Businesses
Name, address, phone, website, rating, review count
Instagram / TikTok / YouTube
Username, followers, bio, website, public email
With Enrichment
Email addresses, lead score (1-10), personalised outreach draft
?

What to try first

Here are four searches worth running. Pick the one closest to what you actually need. These aren't demos, they'll produce real leads you can use today.

Local businesses
find me 100 dentists in Miami with at least 4 stars
Instagram creators
find fitness influencers on Instagram with 10k to 100k followers
With email enrichment
find me 50 marketing agencies in London, enrich with emails and write outreach messages
Re-run with same config
/scrape-leads
Tip: After your first run, your search config is saved. Just type /scrape-leads to run the same search again, or /scrape-leads --new to change what you're looking for.
What people are building with this

Real estate agents scraping property managers. SaaS founders finding early adopters on Instagram. Freelancers building client lists from Google Maps. Agencies running competitor research across 5 platforms at once.

No spreadsheet gymnastics. No $200/month lead gen subscriptions. One command, real data, straight to CSV.
